The Government of Ethiopia is invested in implementing its ambitious climate goals. The Country is currently updating its Nationally determined contributions (NDC) and developing its 10-year development plan which mainstreams the country’s policy for low-carbon, climate-resilient growth and development.

As part of its engagement, funded by NDC-Partnership’s Climate Action Enhancement Package (CAEP) and CDKN, SSN provides technical assistance support to the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Commission (EFCCC) on strengthening:

  • Knowledge management and information exchange on NDC implementation processes in Ethiopia;
  • Development of strategies on aspects and sectors that are relevant to the NDC update process of Ethiopia; and
  • Support the dissemination of knowledge and information on the design and implementation of Ethiopia’s NDC.

The NDC Highlights newsletter is one of the outputs of this engagement and the second issue which features articles on gender-sensitive climate action and supporting greening and afforestation in Ethiopia has now been published.
