CDKN worked with the online information gateway Eldis to improve access to key research on climate and development.

Eldis is one of the leading online resources covering climate change from a development perspective.   As part of its broad-based coverage of development and poverty issues, it provides a Climate Change Resource Guide with summaries of the latest documents and resources on the subject.  The focus is on materials that are of strategic, policy or practical interest for development practitioners based in both the North and South.

CDKN  commissioned Eldis to covert an initial research stock-take report into an online resource.  The report was produced to help guide CDKN’s research strategy and includes references to over 100 key research documents.   Eldis created short, easily understandable summaries of each document, which are available through their website and also posted in relevant sections of the CDKN site, where they are identified as resources ‘from our content partner Eldis’.

Eldis was also supported in extending their coverage of country-related climate and development resources in five of CDKN’s early engagement countries:  Ghana, Rwanda, Bangaldesh, Pakistan and Nepal.

Eldis is hosted by the Institute of Development Studies, at the University of Sussex.  Its target audience includes development professionals, donor agency staff, policy-makers, NGOs, researchers, students, information workers, development communicators, and development-focused web-service providers.
